The good news is John Boehner (Speaker of the House) has packed his jammies, his white flag, beer and cigarettes and is high tailing it out of the White House. In 2011 Republicans, once again made a fatal error by electing John as Speaker of the House. He talked a good talk and assured all that better times were right around the corner.
To give credit where credit it is due, Boehner was a bit impressive to some – Republicans along with millions of Americans were elated and many saw hope on the horizon. Below is his speech when taking office and one would have to admit he certainly appeared to be the answer to many prayers.
“More than a country, America is an idea, and it is our job to pass on to our posterity the blessings bestowed to us,” he said.
“Our aim will be to give government back to the people,” Boehner said. “In seeking this goal, we will part with some of the rituals that have come to characterize this institution under majorities Republican and Democratic alike. We will dispense with the conventional wisdom that bigger bills are always better; that fast legislating is good legislating; that allowing additional amendments and open debate makes the legislative process “less efficient” than our forefathers intended. “
“No longer can we fall short. No longer can we kick the can down the road,” Boehner said. “The people voted to end business as usual, and today we begin to carry out their instructions.” Speaking of can kicking, Boehner probably made McGinnis World of Records for the all – star can kicker.
He crumpled on Obama’s amnesty allowing the CRomnibus bill to go forward and still be funded. John promised every debt ceiling increase would include a spending cut, but that never happened.
He promised sequestrations would not happen; he flip flopped on that saying they were necessary. Remember like Obama, Boehner promised transparency and we all know that he jumped behind closed doors with the Obama Administration and caved in to Obama on all issues such as Obamacare, the Iran Deal, amnesty, debt ceiling, budget and transparency.
To demonstrate the ignorance or as Trump would say the “stupidity” Mitch McConnell and John Boehner made the Iran deal a partisan issue which merely means they presented the Iran deal to Democrats as an issue of diplomacy or war; of course the Democrats opted for diplomacy because they didn’t want to go against Obama’s Iran deal.
To review all of his deficiencies as Speaker of the House would be a total waste of time. It’s fair to say that Marc Rubio was correct when he said not one good thing had been accomplished since 2011 on the Republican side.
Senator Cruz opened up a can of worms yesterday in a speech saying he’d heard reports concerning a deal cut by Boehner with Nancy Pelosi. Cruz said, “I will say, the early reports are discouraging. If it is correct that the speaker, before he resigns, has cut a deal with Nancy Pelosi to fund the Obama administration for the rest of its tenure, to fund Obamacare, to fund executive amnesty, to fund Planned Parenthood, to fund implementation of this Iran deal — and then, presumably, to land in a cushy K Street job after joining with the Democrats to implement all of President Obama’s priorities, that is not the behavior one would expect of a Republican speaker of the House.”
At this time the report from Cruz is unconfirmed, but it came from a very reputable source Breitbart news site. There’s no conspiracy theory to this report, John Boehner’s tenure as Speaker of the House has been disastrous.
John Boehner is the poster child for corrupt politicians. He is the epitome of crooked professional politicians who lie, lie and lie some more to Americans. The silent majority has spoken and they are determined to stop the Washington Cartel; they don’t want political insiders like Boehner running our Country.
May God Bless America
